This Spring the Beech boys have enjoyed combing the beaches for precious shells and sea glass, creating some lovely collages and necklaces with their findings. They have been using teamwork to find and collect some beautiful pieces.
Quite a lot of our learning takes place away from the classroom. We have weekly swimming, forest school and PE activities in and around North Devon, where we learn to develop both practical and social skills.
Beech class have been enjoying forest school this term. The boys have been practising lighting fires safely, melting marshmallows and eating delicious foods over their fires, working together as a team to source materials.
In December, the Beech boys went on a winter walk along the coastal paths in Westward Ho! They were particularly interested in the ice which had formed over puddles, crunching it under their welly boots, noticing patterns and collecting shards of ice, timing how long it would take to melt in their hands.
