Active Learning
Our Pupils benefit from a range of activities in many different learning environments, both on and off the school site.
We utilise the School woods and many other local woodland areas (as well as our school site) for Forest school and continue these learning principles in various beach locations in the local area.
We aim to create immersive learning experiences wherever possible, so cater trips out to enhance learning in the topics they are following. You can't learn about Dinosaurs without a visit to the Dinosaur Park or finding Fossils!
We also have weekly swimming sessions for each class and each half term a class will learn a different sports activity.
A number of our classes have benefitted from having weekly Cricket sessions provided by Devon Cricket community coach Niall Leahy. Children developed their batting and fielding skills through a number of games and activities. They have enjoyed the sessions so much that they have now asked for Cricket to be included in further PE lessons.
