Reading/Phonics

Being able to read and write confidently is the key for all of our learners reaching their full potential.

Daily Phonics and Reading is highly incentivised with pupils' keen to make progress in their reading scores, tracked by each class' reward chart.

Many of our pupils arrive at Marland Primary with Phonics needs, we follow the Sounds Write Phonics programme, enhanced by high quality personalised resources.

Sounds-Write is a real phonic programme that teaches in simple steps how the sounds of the language are represented by the writing system.
