In the classroom
In Oak Class, we have been studying the Classification of Living Things, exploring how Carl Linnaeus’s pioneering work enabled scientists to categorise and name living organisms based on shared characteristics. Our studies have encompassed not only plants and animals but also fungi and bacteria. To enrich our understanding of this topic, we had the opportunity to visit RHS Rosemoor. Additionally, we participated in weekly swimming sessions during the first half of the term, and more recently, we have been exploring and walking around points of interest in our local area. During Black History Month, we focused on the life and artistic contributions of Alma Thomas, and had the chance to recreate some of her iconic works in class.
Below are some photos of the work we have been doing in our classroom this year.
